the second distillery of the Hombo Shuzo group

To add new flavor profiles to its whiskies, Hombo Shuzo opened a second distillery at the company's headquarters in 2016.

Is Tsunuki Distillery the company's fourth or second whisky distillery?

Both: it is the fourth distillery in the company's history and the second that is still in operation. Hobbo Shuzo founded a whisky company in 1949.

However, it was not until 1960 that the company began to produce its own whisky in the Yamanashi factory.

This was the case until 1969. In 1981, distillation was carried out again, but at the factory in Kagoshima.

In 1985, the Kagoshima factory was closed after Mars Shinshu was completed (at least for whisky). From 1992 to 2011 there was a break at Mars Shinshu itself.

Tsunuki helped expand the Mars Whisky brand and offer customers a wider variety of whisky flavors with a 5,800-liter wash still, a 3,300-liter still and a maturation cellar.
